FIGHTING COVID-19: SPICEHEALTH LAUNCHES MOBILE RT-PCR TESTING FACILITY IN MUMBAI

After successfully launching and operating multiple Covid-19 mobile testing laboratories in Delhi and Haryana and conducting more than 750,000 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests, SpiceHealth in association with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), launched three mobile testing laboratories in Mumbai on Thursday. The mobile labs, which are accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), have been set-up at Bandra Kurla Complex, National Sports Club of India, Worli and NESCO, Goregaon.

SpiceHealth’s mobile testing laboratory at Bandra Kurla Complex was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and state Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray, in the presence of Ajay Singh, CMD, SpiceJet, and Avani Singh, CEO, SpiceHealth.

On 23 November 2020, SpiceHealth, a healthcare company founded by the promoters of SpiceJet, had launched its first mobile testing facility at ICMR, AIIMS, Delhi, which was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.

Avani Singh, CEO, SpiceHealth, said, “After making a significant contribution and helping scale up Covid testing in Delhi, SpiceHealth is proud to partner with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and set-up mobile laboratories in Mumbai. At a time when Covid-19 was at an all-time high, we disrupted the RT-PCR testing space by offering tests in mobile laboratories at Rs 499, as opposed to the then existing rate of Rs. 2,400 in Delhi. Our mobile laboratories ensured scalability and our low price ensured affordability and our vigorous testing helped curb the spread of the virus. I am confident that SpiceHealth will help scale up Covid testing in Mumbai.”
