Topping the list is the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, which maintained its position for the third consecutive year. NLSIU’s commitment to excellence has consistently earned it top ratings in teaching, research, and outreach activities.
“NLSIU has always aimed to set the bar high. We are delighted to have maintained our position. This recognition reinforces our commitment to providing a world-class legal education,” said Prof. Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Vice-Chancellor of NLSIU.
Following NLSIU, the second spot was clinched by the National Law University, Delhi. The other three institutions that rounded off the top five are the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur’s Law School, and Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.
Methodology of Ranking
The NIRF ranking employs a detailed methodology that includes factors such as Teaching, Learning, and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception (PR). Each institution is assigned a score out of 100 based on these parameters.
“Our methodology is designed to provide a comprehensive view of the overall performance of an institution. We take into account several criteria to ensure the ranking is well-rounded and truly reflective of an institution’s capabilities,” explained Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
