Delhi reduces Covid test price by a third as India’s caseload crosses 94 lakh

India’s coronavirus tally crossed the 94-lakh mark even as new case additions dropped below the 40,000- mark for the first time in six days. India reported 38,772 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 94.31 lakh in the world’s second-worst infected country.  

Delhi has witnessed a drop in its Covid-19 cases over the last few days. The city reported 3,726 new cases and 108 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking its tally to 5,70,374 total cases, and 9,174 deaths in the state. A total of 5824 people were discharged in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 5,28,315. Active cases in the state stand at 32,885. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that he has issued directives to reduce the price of the RT-PCR test in the national capital to Rs 800, 1/3 of what Delhiites have been paying so far. Currently, people have to spend Rs 2,400 for the RT-PCR test at private labs.  Haryana on 30 November reported 27 more deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 2,428, while 1,604 fresh cases pushed the state›s infection tally to 2,34,126.  

Maharashtra reported 3,837 new Covid-19 cases, 4,196 were discharged, and 80 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases recorded so far are 18,23,896, while the toll of recoveries is 16,85,122. Active cases in the state stand at 90,557, and the death toll is 47,151.   

West Bengal reported 2,671 new coronavirus cases, 2,730 discharges, and 48 deaths. Total cases recorded so far is 4,83,484. A total of 4,50,762 people have been discharged till date, and the death toll rose up to 8,424. Active cases stand at 24,298.   

Karnataka reported 998 new Covid-19 cases, 2,209 recoveries, and 13 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state stand at 8,84,89, including 8,49,821 recoveries, and 11,778 death. Active cases in the state are 23,279.   Uttar Pradesh reported 2,044 new coronavirus cases, 2,472 recoveries, and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state stand at 5,43,888, including 24,099 active cases, 5,12,028 recoveries, and 7,761 deaths.   

Rajasthan on Monday reported 20 more deaths due to Covid-19, while 2,677 cases pushed the state’s caseload to 2,68,063. The state’s coronavirus death toll is 2,312, and active cases stand at 28,653. Meanwhile, 2,37,098 people were discharged. Tamil Nadu reported 1,410 new coronavirus cases, 1,456 discharges, and 9 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state so far are 7,81,915, including 7,59,206 recoveries, and 11,712 deaths. Active cases stand at 10,997.
