In a major breakthrough, the Narsingi Police of Cyberabad Commissionerate unearthed a large-scale land fraud involving forged Government Orders (G.Os.), fabricated ownership documents, and an alleged attempt to illegally sell government land worth crores of rupees. Three accused persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
According to police, the case came to light after Gandipet Tahsildar Srinivas Reddy lodged a complaint on May 23, alleging that fake government documents were being circulated through WhatsApp groups and social media platforms. The forged G.Os. falsely claimed that nearly 10 acres of government poramboke land in Survey No.18 of Gandipet village, Ranga Reddy district, had been regularized and allotted to private individuals.
Based on the complaint, Narsingi Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Acting on court-issued search warrants, police conducted raids at the residences of accused persons Nimmala Venugopal, Nimmala Ramaswamy, and Nimmala Rajesh. During the searches, officials seized bank passbooks, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) documents, mobile phones, and a laptop.
Investigators found that members of the Nimmala family allegedly attempted to claim ownership over the government land despite the High Court dismissing their petitions related to the property in October 2025. Police said the accused later entered into a criminal conspiracy with Bolla Ramesh and Brahma Naidu to sell the land at an estimated Rs.3.5 crore per acre by falsely projecting themselves as lawful owners.
The investigation further revealed that nearly Rs.4 crore had allegedly exchanged hands as part of the proposed illegal transaction. Police also suspect that fake G.Os. and forged land regularization documents were created to mislead prospective buyers and government authorities.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nimmala Rajesh Goud, Nimmala Venugopal, and Nimmala Sai Kiran. They were produced before the court. Several others, including Bolla Ramesh, Brahma Naidu, Sunil, and Radhakrishna, are absconding, and special police teams have been formed to trace them.
Cyberabad Police urged the public to verify land ownership and government records with revenue authorities before entering into property transactions and warned of strict action against land grabbers and document forgers.
