Congress walks out of Gujarat Assembly over Covid deaths

The Opposition Congress has adopted an aggressive strategy to address the plight of the victims of recession, inflation, unemployment, atrocities, corruption, and Covid-19, in the first session of new Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and his new ministers. During Question Hour, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi lashed out at the Opposition’s attack on the MD Drugs issue. At that time, former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel were busy talking to each other. So there was a kind of resentment among the newly appointed ministers that the former CM and the deputy CM remained silent. On the other hand, Congress aggressively raised the issue of Covid deaths in the Assembly. The Congress walked out of the House on the first day today, chanting “Give justice, give justice to corona dead”.

After the Congress walkout from the Assembly, Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel said that the Congress was doing a political stunt. The legislature is trying political demonstrations in the name of Corona. The government is going to provide Rs 50,000 assistance to the family of the deceased. The BJP government is with Gujarat. The state government has announced a package using the innovative amount in excess rainfall. 10 thousand 82 people have died in Corona in the state. All the leaders in the House today should unite.

At the start of the assembly session, two former Congress MLAs, Gyasudin Sheikh and Imran Khedawala, protested on the premises wearing banners and a doctor›s apron demanding Rs 4 lakh assistance to Covid›s deceased family. Tight police cordon has been set up inside and outside the assembly in anticipation of possible Congress protests, and vehicles heading to the assembly have also been checked.

BJP state president C.R. Patil had guided the MLAs even before the start of the House on the challenges facing the new ministers and CM Bhupendra Patel. A meeting of BJP MLAs was held at the BJP›s Whip office with C.R. Patil as its chairman, in which Patil taught the legislators how to give answers with the strength of the opposition›s “hallabol”.
