Vijaywada: In the cabinet meeting, a decision was made to appoint an inquiry committee to identify the real masterminds behind the Tirumala adulterated laddoo scandal. The cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat, continued the discussion on the SIT report. Setting aside all other issues, the Tirumala laddoo adulteration case was discussed at length. The report detailed the method of adulteration and the lapses in various departments. The Andhra Pradesh cabinet opined that the SIT report submitted to the government only recommended action against those directly involved, not the main perpetrators.
The cabinet decided to form a committee to identify the real masterminds. The cabinet noted discrepancies between the issues under investigation, the points in the charge sheet, and the information submitted to the government. The main discussion revolved around why the facts uncovered during the investigation were missing from the charge sheet. It is understood that the cabinet decided to form an inquiry committee to study the differences between the investigation findings, the charge sheet, and the government report, and to present the true facts. The cabinet decided to form the committee and obtain a report within a specified timeframe. After the cabinet meeting, ministers informed the media that shocking truths have come to light in the Tirumala adulterated laddoo case. They stated that it is clear that the rulers at the time remained silent even though they knew that wrongdoing was occurring. They said that they had a lengthy discussion on the SIT report as well as other information available to the government. Payyavula recalled that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu spoke based on the report given by the NDDB, which stated that pig fat was mixed in the Tirumala laddoos. He revealed that the NDDB (National Dairy Development Board) has confirmed that beef tallow, lard, and fish oil were used in the chemicals used to make the laddus. He questioned whether the Chief Minister should present the facts that have come to his attention to the public or not.
He stated that, similar to the NDDB report, the CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute) had also given a report to the then YSRCP government in 2022 regarding the use of chemicals in the laddus. He questioned what should be said about the fact that the then government not only failed to take action based on that report but also further encouraged it. He called for a public discussion on the method of manufacturing ghee using chemicals without a single drop of milk. He commented that all those who remained silent even after knowing that Vaishnavi Dairy was participating in ghee procurement tenders with fake documents are criminals. He clarified that a committee is being formed to investigate and take action against those who were complicit in this heinous crime.
