Apple’s new mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro is again on the news, this time it is for its groundbreaking use in bariatric surgery. Once again proving, that technology indeed plays a crucial role in making the healthcare more enhanced.
Even though this headset device has time and again used for many medical requirements, but for the first time, Dr. Mohit Bhandari from New Delhi’s Pristyn care has conducted bariatric surgery with a Vision Pro Headset.
Moreover, the joint partnership of New Delhi’s Pristyn Care and Mohak Bariatrics and Robotics, made the first live surgery possible with the help of Apple Vision Pro.
According to the news reports, 155-kilogram male patient was suffering from sleep apnea syndrome and high blood pressure.
As a result, treatment involving sleep gastric bypass and the Single Anastomosis Duodenal Ileal (SADI) procedure was required.
After making the use of Apple Vision Pro, it provided the team with 3D environment. Thus, helping them focus on intricate details and successfully conduct the surgery with clarity.
This surgery took place on May 17 and the duration of the procedure lasted 40 minutes.
Later, the co-founder of Pristyn care Vaibhav Kapoor spoke to NDTV about the surgery and spoke

We are proud to be at the forefront of this technological advancement, which promises to enhance precision, improve outcomes, and set new benchmarks in the healthcare industry.”
But this isn’t the first time this device has been utilized for medical and surgical procedures. Recently, the same headset was employed in laparoscopic surgery in Chennai.
Furthermore, in the United Kingdom, a major spine surgery was successfully conducted with the assistance of this innovative headset.
