The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Aman Singh from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, on Wednesday. Singh is alleged to be the mastermind behind the NEET-UG paper leak racket, according to sources within the CBI.

This arrest marks the seventh in connection with the NEET-UG probe. Previously, on Sunday, the CBI apprehended Dixit Patel, the owner of Jay Jalaram School in Godhra district, Gujarat. Patel was accused of charging candidates between ₹5 lakh and ₹10 lakh, promising to boost their exam scores.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET-UG examination on May 5, with 23 lakh candidates appearing at 4,750 centers across 571 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The results, declared on June 4, sparked controversy as 67 candidates achieved perfect scores, leading to nationwide protests and allegations of irregularities.

In response, the CBI registered a criminal case on June 23 and formed special teams to investigate the alleged misconduct in the NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams conducted by the NTA. The investigation continues as the agency seeks to uncover the full extent of the paper leak operation.
