The Supreme Court of India today issued notices for 14 petitions challenging alleged malpractices and irregularities in the conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) examination for the year 2024.

Additionally, it issued notice to the Centre and NTA regarding a petition from students who took the NEET-UG exam in Meghalaya, claiming they lost 45 minutes and seeking inclusion among the 1,563 students granted grace marks and offered the chance to reappear on June 23.

The petitions consist of four transfer petitions submitted by the NTA, leading to the court halting proceedings in the respective high courts. The court instructed the Centre and NTA to submit their responses and scheduled all petitions for a hearing on July 8.

Additionally, the SC has issued notices to involved parties in response to petitions by the NTA. These petitions seek to transfer cases related to the NEET-UG dispute from the High Courts to the Supreme Court.
