Neeraj Chopra is prepared for his highly awaited comeback to competitive action in his home country. The National Federation Cup is expected to be an exciting event, offering not only Chopra’s return but also the opportunity to see other promising Indian athletes like Kishore Kumar Jena compete for national acclaim.

Neeraj Chopra, India’s Olympic gold medalist, is gearing up for his first domestic competition on home soil since his historic victory at the The National Federation Cup. He will be participating in the 27th National Federation Cup athletics championships in Odisha, scheduled from May 12 to May 15 at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. This event holds great significance for Chopra, offering him the opportunity to showcase his talent in front of his home crowd as he prepares for the upcoming season leading to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In preparation for the National Federation Cup, Chopra will also compete in the Doha Diamond League on May 10. His return to domestic competition marks a crucial step in his journey towards the Paris Olympics. Chopra emphasized the importance of staying in peak physical condition and continuously improving, emphasizing that competition brings a different energy, especially when representing India.

Expressing his goals for the Olympic year, Chopra stressed the significance of consistent performance and improvement. He remains focused on maintaining peak fitness, aiming for consistency throughout the season and delivering exceptional performances when it matters the most. Despite his remarkable achievements, including breaching the 90-meter mark, Chopra remains committed to continuous growth and improvement.

Chopra’s last domestic competition was at the same event on March 17, 2021, where he clinched gold with a throw of 87.80 meters. Since then, he has achieved remarkable success, including winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics, becoming Diamond League champion in 2022, securing the title of world champion in 2023, and defending his gold medal at the Asian Games in China.
