On Monday, Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackeray called a party meeting on presidential elections and asked its MPs to support Murmu.

“We discussed Droupadi Murmu (NDA’s Presidential candidate) in our meeting yesterday. Supporting Droupadi Murmu does not mean supporting BJP. Shiv Sena’s role will be clear in a day or two, party leader Uddhav Thackeray will make a decision,” said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.

Moreover, ahead of the presidential elections, Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu is being visiting various states to seek the support of legislators. However, she has the support of the BJD, Akali Dal, and YSR congress.

Earlier, on Friday, Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hosted a dinner party for NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu at his official residence in Lucknow.

Notably, the presidential elections will be conducted on July 18, 2022, against the opposition’s joint nominee Yashwant Sinha. If Murmu win the Presidential elections, she will be the first tribal President of India and the country’s second female President.
