New Delhi: The National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has dismissed a case of negligence filed against Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. The complaint was on the basis of a surgery conducted for the replacement of the infected aneurysmal arch of the aorta with ‘24 mm Dacron branched arch graft’.

The court has pronounced there was no medical negligence involved in the treatment and death of the concerned patient. The patient, who died after three years of treatment, was from Amritsar and had undergone surgery for aortic arch replacement. The wife of the patient, who is a doctor, alleged that the doctor had not provided information about the nature of the disease and the surgery which was to be performed.
