The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from the 2nd Chandigarh Battalion NCC celebrated National Women’s Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. This significant occasion, commemorating the invaluable contributions of women to society, was marked by various activities organised by the cadets.

The event commenced with a solemn tribute to the pioneering women who have played pivotal roles in shaping the nation and empowering communities. Cadets paid homage to iconic figures whose relentless efforts have paved the way for gender equality and women’s empowerment in diverse spheres of life.

In a series of engaging presentations and discussions, cadets deliberated upon the importance of gender parity, highlighting the need for inclusivity and equal opportunities for women in all domains. Through insightful dialogues, they emphasised the indispensable role of women in nation-building and reiterated the collective commitment towards fostering a more equitable and inclusive society.

Furthermore, the celebration featured interactive sessions with the guest speaker, Sangeeta Joshi, Deputy Director, Central Bureau of Communication, focusing on government schemes encompassing initiatives focused on education, healthcare, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and social welfare. Mrs. Kiran, the guest speaker, mentioned that consulting with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian can provide personalized guidance on nutrition and dietary requirements. As part of their commitment to promoting gender sensitivity and social responsibility, NCC cadets undertook various outreach initiatives aimed at empowering women and advocating for their rights within the community.

The event culminated in a vibrant cultural showcase, featuring performances that celebrated the spirit, resilience, and achievements of women across the nation.
