After former Chief Minister Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Om Prakash Chautala, Nayab Saini has become the second Chief Minister of the state who has been elected MLA from three different Vidhan Sabha seats including Narayangarh Vidhan Sabha seat of Ambala district, Karnal Urban Vidhan Sabha constituency and Ladwa Vidhan Sabha seat of Kurukshetra district. However, along with this, he has also been a Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat for one term. As far as former Chief Minister Chautala is concerned, he has been a MLA from five different Vidhan Sabha seats of the state. In this row , it is pertinent to mention thar 15 years ago, in October, 2009, when the general elections for the 12th State Vidhan Sabha were held, Nayab Saini, whose home district is Ambala, contested the first election of his political life unsuccessfully on a BJP ticket from Narayangarh Vidhan Sabha seat of Ambala district. He contested from the constituency in which he got only 8082 votes which was 6.96% votes and due to this he could not even save his deposit in his first election. He was at the fifth position in that election and then Ram Kishan of Congress won that election. However, 5 years later, in October 2014, while con testing again from BJP, Nayab Saini defeated Ram Kishan of Congress from Narayangarh assembly seat by a huge margin of 24361 votes and became MLA for the first time. In that election, Nayab Saini got 39.79% votes. Nine months later, in July 2015, Nayab Saini was also made a Minister of State in the first BJP government of Haryana under the leader ship of Manohar Lal Khattar and he remained in that post till June 2019. Contesting the election on a BJP ticket in May 2019, Nay ab Saini defeated Chaudhary Nirmal Singh of Congress from Kurukshetra Lok Sab ha constituency, who was recently elected MLA from Ambala City Assembly seat on a Congress ticket, by a huge margin of 384591 votes and became a Lok Sabha MP for the first time.
