THANE: A Navratri mandal secretary in Thane, Maharashtra, has been booked for allegedly attempting to extort money from an individual for the upcoming festival celebrations. The nine-day Navratri festival is set to commence on October 15. On October 7, a contractor was confronted by the accused in the Wagle Estate area, who demanded a donation for the festival and threatened dire consequences if the money wasn’t paid.
