Naveen Jindal, the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power, officially took on the role of President of the Indian Steel Association with immediate effect on Thursday.

The Indian Steel Association (ISA) announced in a statement that Naveen Jindal has assumed the position of President, taking over from Dilip Oommen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AMNS India, effective March 21.

According to the statement, Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), has been unanimously elected as the President of the ISA by the Apex Committee, the governing body of ISA.

For India to achieve its development objectives, the steel industry, along with its upstream and downstream manufacturing value chains, must expand harmoniously.
