The proceedings of the last day of the winter session of Haryana Assembly started with the question Hour, in which MLAs from the ruling party and the opposition asked questions. MLAs and ministers from the ruling party and the opposition including the Chief Minister participated in the session on Art of Living.
After the two-hour long session, the Chief Minister said that if yoga relieves mental stress, life remains happy, and encouraged everyone to try yoga. The CM said, “I reserve 45 minutes of time for yoga.” During the session, spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar praised the Chief Minister. He said aid that the Chief Minister promoted crop diversification for farmers. “Our workers will also cooperate in this campaign of the Chief Minister”, he added.
During the session, Congress MLA Raghuveer Kadian approached the Well to address a matter, during which he used objectionable language in the House. Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta expressed displeasure and instructed marshals to escort him out. However, after an extended period, former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda intervened, and following an apology from Kadian, the Speaker granted permission for him to remain in the House.
During the question Hour, MLA from Ellenabad Abhay Singh Chautala raised the issue of corruption in decisions in municipal corporations. He gave the example of scams happening in Hisar and Ambala. Answering their questions on this, the CM said that now FIR is filed in every case, and all the cases are under investigation.
After this, Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that there are 731 cases of corruption but every matter could not be discussed in the House. An argument started between Abhay Chautala and the Speaker regarding this.
Palwal MLA Deepak Mangla raised the problem of railway crossing, by addressing how people face a lot of problems due to jam. Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, replying to this, said that the demand is justified, but noted some problems, and there was space to build only a flyover. However, Somveer Sangwan demanded a new bus stand in Dadri. Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma said that wherever space is available, a bus stand would be built there. Gohana MLA Jagbir Malik raised many issues. Malik raised the issue of corruption. “Name any department in which there is no corruption?”
