Atul Subash’s father has expressed gratitude to the Bengaluru Police for arresting Nikita Singhania and her family members in connection with his son’s suicide. He also urged the authorities to hand over his grandson, currently in the custody of Singhania’s family.
Speaking to reporters following the arrests, Pawan Kumar said, “I am thankful to the police for arresting their (Nikita Singhania’s) family. We do not even know if our grandson is alive or his whereabouts. We request the police to give us the details of our grandson and hand him over to us. We want our grandson to live with us.”
On Sunday, Bengaluru Police announced the arrest of three individuals, including Atul Subash’s wife, Nikita Singhania, in connection with an abetment of suicide case. Nikita was apprehended in Gurugram, Haryana, while her mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anuragh Singhania, were detained in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, according to a police statement.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara emphasized that the police would thoroughly investigate the case. He remarked, “This case has opened up a new discussion in the country about men’s rights and how the system is working. The police department is investigating what led the man to die by suicide and the authenticity of cases that were filed against him by his wife’s family.”
On December 9, Atul Subash was found hanging in his apartment in Bengaluru’s Munnekollal area. A suicide note discovered at the scene accused his wife, Nikita Singhania, of harassment and making exorbitant financial demands under the guise of alimony. Subash also recorded a video of his suicide note, which he emailed to several individuals and shared in a WhatsApp group associated with an NGO, seeking justice.
The note alleged that Nikita Singhania and her family had demanded ₹3 crore to drop the cases filed against Subash and ₹30 lakh to grant him visitation rights for his son.
