Videos of heavy rainfall across India have inundated social media, but one particularly alarming video has recently gone viral. The footage, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows a massive hoarding collapsing and crushing three parked vehicles at Sahajanand Chowk in Kalyan, Thane. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

ANI shared the video with the caption, “A wooden hoarding collapsed at Sahajanand Chowk in Kalyan, Thane, at 10:18 am this morning.”No casualties reported, 3 vehicles were damaged in the incident.”

WATCH THE VIDEO:

The video begins with a typical busy road scene, with vehicles passing by and several autos and cars parked on the side. Suddenly, a flash, seemingly from a lightning bolt, appears on the screen. Moments later, the large hoarding crashes down onto the parked vehicles. The video captures an auto driver narrowly escaping harm, followed by people rushing to assist and assess the damage.

The incident sparked immediate reactions online. Many expressed relief that there were no injuries, while others voiced their frustration over the poor infrastructure. Calls for an investigation into the cause of the collapse were widespread, with some sarcastically blaming the hoarding itself.

Tehsildar of Kalyan, Sachin Shejal, informed PTI that rescue operations were promptly initiated and a team was dispatched to the site. He confirmed that there was no indication of anyone being trapped under the hoarding.

Despite the hoarding’s substantial size, its exact dimensions remain unknown. The incident has drawn attention to the potential dangers posed by such structures, especially during adverse weather conditions.
