To ensure environmental sustainability, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of ground water recharge and plantation during construction. The canal-covering project will transform the road into a two-lane bypass, providing an alternative route for travelers going from Nainital to Delhi or Dehradun via Bajpur, Ramnagar, or Corbett National Park.

Senior officials from the Public Works Department and Irrigation Department attended the meeting.
