Hyderabad: In a remarkable initiative aimed at strengthening the public education system, residents of Babapur village in Lakshmanachanda mandal of Nirmal district have unanimously resolved to send all their children to government schools instead of private institutions.
The innovative decision was taken during a village meeting where residents discussed the importance of improving government schools and ensuring quality education for every child. Following detailed deliberations, the villagers collectively passed a resolution committing themselves to enrol their children in government-run educational institutions.
The villagers said the decision was influenced by the significant improvements in educational standards, infrastructure, and facilities being provided in government schools in recent years. They expressed confidence that government schools are now capable of delivering quality education on par with private institutions.
Village Sarpanch Padigela Lakshmi said the move was driven by a desire to strengthen public education and contribute to the overall development of the village. She noted that an increase in student enrolment would help further improve government schools and encourage greater community participation in educational activities.
Highlighting the role of teachers, she said experienced and qualified educators are imparting quality education in government schools. She also pointed out that public schools continue to play a crucial role in providing affordable and accessible education to children from poor and middle-class families.
The resolution has drawn appreciation from educationists and local residents alike, who described it as a progressive and inspiring step. Many believe Babapur’s initiative could serve as a model for other villages across Telangana and beyond, encouraging communities to place greater trust in government schools and contribute to their growth.
The decision reflects a growing confidence in the public education system and underscores the community’s commitment to ensuring a better future for its children through quality education.
