Telangana Rains: Two Women Die in Wall Collapse; CM Revanth Reddy Holds Emergency Review

Two women lost their lives in a tragic wall collapse in Kothapalli, located in Telangana’s Narayanpet district, as relentless heavy rains battered various parts of the state. In response to the worsening situation, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy convened an emergency review meeting with ministers, officials, and elected representatives on Sunday, September 1, directing immediate relief efforts in the flood-affected regions.

The state capital, Hyderabad, experienced severe waterlogging and multiple incidents of trees falling due to incessant overnight rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert for the city, predicting heavy rains to continue until late evening.

In a precautionary move to safeguard students, the administration has ordered the closure of all schools in Hyderabad district on Monday, September 2, due to the forecast of continued heavy rainfall.

The adverse weather conditions have also disrupted railway services, with the South Central Railway announcing the cancellation of six trains and the diversion of nine others due to waterlogging on the tracks at several locations.
