Revanna Assault Case: Karnataka SIT Arrives At Residence For Questioning

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Karnataka Police reached the Holenarasipura home of Bhavani Revanna, mother of suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, to conduct an inquiry. Prajwal Revanna, who is implicated in the obscene video case, was apprehended at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport upon his reentry into the country.

Bhavani has been remanded to police custody for six days by the court. He faces allegations in a kidnapping case filed under IPC sections 64(A), 365, 109, and 120(B). On Friday, the SIT issued a notice to Bhavani Revanna regarding the kidnapping case. They had requested Bhavani to be present for investigation and questioning at her residence in Holenarasipura on June 1.

Previously, Bhavani had submitted an anticipatory bail plea related to the kidnapping case, which resulted in the arrest of her husband HD Revanna. Bhavani then approached the Karnataka High Court to avoid arrest by the SIT.

The Special Court of People’s Representatives in Bengaluru has approved the SIT’s request for six-day custody of Prajwal Revanna about the alleged obscene video case. Revanna appeared before Justice KN Shivakumar of the Special Court of People’s Representatives in Bengaluru today, following the SIT’s request for a 14-day custody.

HD Revanna was previously arrested on April 29 in connection with the kidnapping case and was subsequently granted conditional bail by a special court for public figures. The case, lodged on April 28 at the Holenarasipura town police station, revolves around accusations of sexual assault made by Revanna and his son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, against their domestic worker.

Prajwal Revanna arrived back in India from Germany about a month after departing the country, reportedly on the night of April 26. This return followed the emergence of several explicit videos purportedly involving him on various social media platforms.
