Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh attended the launch ceremony of the book titled 75 Great Revolutionaries of India, authored by Rajya Sabha MP Bhim Singh, in New Delhi on Sunday. During the event, Singh praised Bhim Singh’s efforts, describing the book as a “creative and inspiring work” that sheds light on the lesser-known and often overlooked heroes of India’s history.

In his remarks, Harivansh Narayan Singh emphasized the significance of such a work, noting that MP Bhim Singh had meticulously researched and gathered facts to compile a collection of stories about these unsung heroes. He acknowledged the immense effort involved in bringing to light the sacrifices made by these revolutionaries, who played a crucial role in India’s struggle for independence. Singh stated, “Rajya Sabha MP Bhim Singh has done a remarkable job by focusing on these lesser-known figures, who have contributed significantly to the nation’s freedom. His dedication to documenting their stories in this book is truly commendable.”

The Deputy Chairman further highlighted the importance of remembering these heroes, not just as a tribute to their contributions but also as a source of inspiration for building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or Developed India. He pointed out that history often provides the strength and guidance needed to shape the future, and by reading about the sacrifices of these revolutionaries, one can draw motivation to contribute to the nation’s development. “Many historians have observed that the past offers valuable lessons for the future,” Singh remarked. “When we learn about such heroes, their sacrifices inspire us to work towards realizing the vision of a developed India.”

Harivansh Narayan Singh also elaborated on the content of the book, which tells the stories of 75 revolutionaries. He noted that the book not only serves as a historical record but also as a source of inspiration for those who read it. “This book, which consists of the stories of 75 revolutionaries, is a testament to their struggle and devotion. It brings to light the untold and unknown stories of these great leaders, and reading about their lives can inspire and motivate us all,” he said.

The event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the freedom fighters who participated in the ‘Quit India Movement’ led by Mahatma Gandhi. On Friday, in a post on X, PM Modi reflected on the significance of the movement, stating, “Homage to all those who took part in the Quit India Movement under Bapu’s leadership. It was truly a watershed moment in our freedom struggle.” He highlighted the movement as a pivotal point in India’s fight for independence, noting that Gandhi’s call for a non-violent mass protest inspired countless Indians to take up the cause.

The Quit India Movement, also known as the August Kranti, was marked by Gandhi’s call for an “orderly British withdrawal” from India. His speeches during this period encouraged every Indian who desired freedom to be their own guide. The day is commemorated as August Kranti Day each year, serving as a reminder of the nation’s relentless struggle for independence.
