Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in Jaipur on Monday. The event, which runs from December 9 to 11, aims to attract investments and boost Rajasthan’s economic development.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi praised Rajasthan for its growth and adaptability. “Rajasthan is not only rising but also reliable, receptive and knows how to refine itself. In a very less time, the Rajasthan Chief Minister has made tremendous efforts for the state. The rise of the state can only be made better by realizing its true potential. The state is abundant in resources right from road to railways, making it an attractive destination for investment,” he said.
He highlighted the resilience of India’s tourism sector, which has flourished despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, and emphasized Rajasthan’s prominence in this space. “Despite Covid-19, India has boosted its tourism sector. Today, India’s domestic tourism is also setting the bars high and India’s tourism schemes are beneficial for Rajasthan…Rajasthan today is the leading state in tourism across the country and attracts a large number of tourists. I have appealed to the countrymen for the ‘Wed in India’ scheme which will benefit Rajasthan; the state has a lot of potential in the tourism sector,” the Prime Minister added.

Speaking about the manufacturing sector, PM Modi underlined the success of the Make in India initiative and its impact on global markets. “India through its Make in India program is focusing on low-cost manufacturing, which is benefitting the world today… An approximate of Rs 84,000 crore worth exports have been made from Rajasthan. The PLI scheme plays an important role in increasing the manufacturing of goods in the country. Investors should explore the manufacturing sector of Rajasthan, which has a lot of scope. The MSME policy brought in by the government has also strengthened the country,” he said.
Concluding his address, PM Modi urged people to explore Rajasthan’s diverse opportunities and contribute to its progress. “I appeal to people to explore Rajasthan, in all its sectors, from tourism to manufacturing, from food to the culture. The state has a great potential and will set new bars of development,” the Prime Minister concluded.
