The 23 INDIA bloc parties on Monday met for over two and half hours and discussed the current political situation and other issues.
The sources said that during the meeting, Rahul Gandhi was fired salvos by the Left leaders including John Brittas and D Raja about his remarks made on their parties during the assembly polls in Keralam.
The source said that while responding to Left leaders Rahul Gandhi stated that the comments were made in regard to Keralam unit demand as it was direct.contest between the Congress-led UDF and the LDF in the state.
The source said that while.clearing his position, Rahul Gandhi stated that the demand was made by state unit leaders to him as it was direct contest between the UDF and the LDF.
During the meeting, source revealed that some leaders also discussed about the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) that came into existence and carried out a protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday over the NEET paper leak.
The source pointed out that Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, who had joined the meeting virtually mentioned about the rise of CJP by tapping on the issues related to youths especially the examination paper leaks.
Many of the leader during the meeting also highlighted the same point.
The source sad that Omar Abdullah during the meeting highlighted that how the CJP has been raising the issue of NEET and the INDIA bloc should not discourage them.
Meanwhile the source said that Samajwadi Party chief Alhilesh Yadav during the meeting without naming any party cited the late decision in the alliance and similar sentiment was raised by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav.
To which, Rahul Gandhi responded that all the discussions will happen in the alliance and floor meetings will take place regularly during Parliament and a meeting of bloc leaders on every two months.
Some opposition leaders, sources pointed out that some leaders also emphasised on having clear alliance in Uttar Pradash on time.
While, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee during the meeting said that as she is free now, she can be utilised more as she can travel to any state.
Some leaders also demanded for a national and state level coordination committee to discuss the issues on time.
