In a major crackdown, Ghaziabad police raided multiple hotels in the Nagar Kotwali area of Bajaria on Thursday, acting on complaints of ongoing prostitution activities. During the raid, police found eight couples in compromising positions across five hotels. The police rescued eight women and arrested eight men, including both younger and older individuals.
ACP Ritesh Tripathi, in charge of Kotwali, stated that the police had received multiple complaints about illicit activities in Bajaria hotels. Acting on these reports, a surprise raid was conducted in five hotels—Hotel Quiz, Hotel Double Tree, Hotel Shubham, Hotel Aryadeep, and Hotel Part Town—where eight couples were discovered in objectionable conditions. The police also recovered incriminating items from the premises.
The arrested individuals include Vijay Anand Duve from Bhole Pandey, Mirzapur; Faisal from Nandgram; Ramesh; Shivam Yadav from Kanpur; Shahnawaz from Firozabad; Aftab Ansari from Kavinagar; Akhilesh Kumar from Khajuri Khas, Delhi; and Mrityunjay Kumar Saini from Faridabad, Haryana.
According to the ACP, further investigation revealed that hotel employees were providing rooms to couples on an hourly basis, charging between Rs 500 and Rs 1,500. In some cases, hotel staff were also arranging for women to meet lone customers. Incriminating items were also seized from the reception desks of these hotels.
All five hotels have been sealed, and the police are identifying the hotel operators for further action. FIRs have been filed against them, and authorities are preparing a report to cancel their licenses, which will be sent to the District Magistrate for further action.
