The Minister of State of Civil Aviation & Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol slammed opposition parties for politicizing Delhi airport roof collapse incident on saturday.

Talking to ANI, he said, ‘It is wrong to bring politics into every issue. Some leaders commented and tweeted that it was inaugurated in 2024 during PM Modi’s time, but this happened in 2008. In the incident that happened yesterday, one person died and five to six people were injured, so politics should not be involved at such a time.’

Mohol also declared, that civil aviation ministry has implemented measures to avoid such incidents in the future.

He further added that both cabinet ministry and civil aviation ministry will initiate structural audit of terminals present throughout the country.

Earlier, civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu announced, that a war room has been established to provide refunds or alternative flights for affected passengers.

Later, he also gave condolences for the loss of life in Delhi airport’s roof collapse incident.

While offering condolences he said, ‘The incident that happened at the Delhi airport is very tragic, and I offer my condolences to the one individual who lost his life. Some people were also injured in the incident; they have been taken to the hospital and are undergoing treatment.’

Meanwhile, the MoS has also announced that a special team from IIT Delhi’s structural engineering department will provide an initial inspection report regarding this incident, and on this basis, they will initiate necessary action to prevent these incidents.

He also emphasized, that a structural preliminary inspection will be conducted at all airports. They have demanded the report within two to five days, as on this basis, necessary action will be determined.
