‘Maha Kumbh in 2025 will be historic and grandest ever’

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday declared that the Maha Kumbh 2025 would be the most magnificent event to date, surpassing all previous editions in both scale and grandeur.
Speaking at a gathering of sants and devotees from across the country at the Dera Siddh Baba Garibnath Math in Pehowa, the Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to the upcoming Maha Kumbh. He remarked, “This grand celebration of Sanatan Dharma will surpass all previous Kumbhs in both size and splendor.”
He announced the upcoming Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, scheduled from January 13 to February 26, 2025, urging everyone to participate and seek blessings from saints during the event.
Yogi asserted the importance of spiritual congregations, stating that they strengthen society by spreading the teachings of saints.
He also praised the Haryana government for its commitment to reviving the sacred Saraswati River, underscoring the importance of preserving cultural heritage through collaborative efforts between governments and religious communities.
Yogi Adityanath highlighted the ongoing efforts under the “double-engine government” model, referring to the BJP-led governments at both the Centre and state levels. “The Haryana government is dedicated to reviving the holy Saraswati River with utmost commitment. It is also the responsibility of saints and devotees to join hands in this sacred cause,” he said.
Yogi also stressed that every sacred place connected with Sanatan Dharma must be preserved as part of India’s spiritual legacy, commending the Haryana government’s commitment to this goal. The event, which saw the participation of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, marked the conclusion of the Athmaan, Battis Dhuni, and Shankhdhal Bhandara – a religious congregation attended by prominent saints and dignitaries. In his address, Saini emphasized the state’s dedication to preserving Haryana’s cultural and traditional heritage over the past decade. “We take immense pride in our culture. For the past ten years, the state government has continuously protected and promoted Haryana’s rich heritage and traditions,” Saini stated. He further linked these efforts with the national vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, referencing the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya. “The temple has fulfilled the aspirations of our ancestors and is a testament to India’s progress while preserving Sanatan Dharma,” Saini remarked.
Both leaders underlined the success of the “double-engine government” in delivering growth and good governance. Yogi Adityanath congratulated the people of Haryana for electing the BJP to power for a third consecutive term and commended CM Saini’s leadership. “With capable leaders, progress naturally follows. Haryana is advancing steadily under CM Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership,” Yogi said, adding that development work must continue to make India a fully developed nation by 2047.
