More than 10 lakh people attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s longest roadshow in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Thursday.

It was the Prime Minister’s largest and longest roadshow in the nation, drawing over 10 lakh attendees. It covered about 50 kilometres and passed through as many as 14 Vidhan Sabha seats, including 13 from Ahmedabad and one from Gandhinagar. PM Modi’s massive roadshow began in Naroda Gam and ended in the Gandhinagar South constituency. PM Modi visited at least 35 memorials along the road, including those for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

From 2001 to 2014, Gujarat’s longest-serving chief minister was Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP won 99 out of a total of 182 seats in the 2017 elections in Gujarat. With Narendra Modi serving as the state’s chief minister for the longest period of time, the party has been in power for the past 27 years.

This time, the party led by PM Modi, Amit Shah, and CR Paatil hopes to win more than 140 seats, which would be a record.

The state has long been a BJP stronghold, and the party has set its sights on winning a seventh term in office.
