A barber named Mohammed Amaan from the city diligently saved money for six months to take his girlfriend on a dream vacation to Goa. However, their romantic getaway took an unexpected turn when Amaan found himself involved in a police chase after the girl’s family accused him of kidnapping. According to SHO Alok Rao of Mohanlalganj, Amaan allegedly persuaded his girlfriend to go on a trip to Goa with him.
“Amaan and the girl resided in the same neighborhood, and he developed strong feelings for her,” stated the SHO. After saving for six months, Amaan planned their travel, booking flights to Delhi and then onward to Goa. “Upon receiving the kidnapping complaint from the girl’s family, we initiated an investigation,” the SHO added.
Utilizing surveillance and cyber cell resources, the police traced digital footprints from Amaan’s email, leading them to discover the flight bookings and eventually intercept the couple at Goa airport on Saturday, as per a senior police officer.
The SHO mentioned that the police will now take the girl’s statement to determine whether she went on the trip willingly or was coerced.
