Exacerbating tension Over Alleged “Pakistan Zindabad” Slogans in Karnataka Assembly

Tensions flared during the recent Rajya Sabha elections as accusations flew between Congress and BJP leaders over alleged chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” at Vidhan Soudha. The government dispatched the Fingerprint and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to verify a circulated video capturing the incident, though its findings are still pending. However, BJP leaders have conducted their own investigation through a private FSL institute, claiming confirmation of the incendiary slogans.

The episode unfolded as Congress candidate Naseer Hussain clinched victory in the elections, prompting jubilant supporters to converge at Vidhana Soudha for celebrations. Amidst the cheers, allegations surfaced of someone chanting provocative slogans. Prompted by these claims, the state government initiated an inquiry, forwarding the video footage to the FSL. BJP representatives accuse the government of withholding the official report, prompting them to release their findings from a private lab, sparking further ire towards the government.

The BJP took to social media, posting from their official Twitter handle, condemning the state government’s silence and sharing the report from Clu4Evidence, which purportedly affirms the pro-Pakistani slogans. FSL expert Phanindra corroborated the findings, dismissing Congress’s allegations of fabrication and demanding an apology from the party.
Today, a BJP delegation visited the DG&IGP office, urging for the swift release of the official FSL report, eight days after the incident. Despite mounting pressure, the government is yet to make an official statement, fueling speculation and exacerbating tensions between the political factions.
