Hyderabad:
The Chief Minister is scheduled to arrive at Arutla at 9:30 a.m. and unveil the Telangana Public School pylon. He will tour the campus, inspect digital classrooms, science laboratories, the library, dining hall, and sports facilities, and interact with students, teachers, and school committee members. He will also share breakfast with students before addressing a public gathering.
Designed to provide world-class education comparable to leading corporate institutions, the Telangana Public School model aims to transform public education across the state. The initiative was developed under the guidance of the Telangana Education Commission, headed by Dr. Akunuri Murali, with members P.L. Visweswara Rao, Dr. Charakonda Venkatesh, and Joshna Shiva Reddy overseeing its implementation.
The Arutla TPS offers education from Nursery to Intermediate under a single campus, with English as the medium of instruction. Alongside academics, equal emphasis is placed on sports, cultural activities, and personality development.
Students will benefit from free bus transportation, breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks. The campus features digital learning infrastructure, spacious classrooms, modern laboratories, a library, gymnasium, and dedicated facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, tennis, and indoor games. Professional coaches have also been appointed for various sports.
The government has selected four schools under the pilot phase Arutla and Manchal in Rangareddy district, and Vangoor and Polkampally in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district. The state plans to gradually establish 100 Telangana Public Schools.
Currently, Arutla TPS has an enrolment of 1,814 students. Such has been the public response that the school has reportedly reached full capacity, forcing authorities to display a “No Admissions” notice. Officials believe the initiative will serve as a model for public education and become a landmark chapter in Telangana’s educational history.
