Jaipur: In a significant development, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot addressed the Rajasthan Gandhi Darshan Trainee Conference organized by the Peace and Non-Violence Department at the Birla Auditorium through a video conference. During the conference, Gehlot emphasized the enduring relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s messages, particularly in the tense atmosphere prevailing in the country.
He asserted that peace and non-violence are paramount and can only be achieved by adhering to Gandhian values and principles. The CM underscored that these ideals play a crucial role in strengthening democracy and contributing to the nation’s progress.
Highlighting the importance of continuing Gandhi philosophy training for every individual, Gehlot deemed the philosophy trainees as Rajasthan’s most valuable assets. He envisioned them as instrumental in propelling the state’s development and fostering mutual love, harmony, and brotherhood in society, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.
Gehlot urged the younger generation to connect with Gandhiji’s thoughts and encouraged them to study his biography, ‘The Experiment of Truth.’ He lauded the Indian Constitution for embodying Gandhian spirit, serving as the foundation for India’s unity and strength, even amidst global tensions.
Rajasthan stands proud as the pioneer state to establish the Department of Peace and Non-Violence, aimed at disseminating Mahatma Gandhi’s message to every household. The department conducts training and awareness campaigns, successfully inspiring the youth to embrace Gandhian principles and walk the path he envisioned. The Gandhi Museum in Jaipur serves as a unique platform for understanding the life and contributions of the Father of the Nation.
Furthering the cause of Gandhian ideals, the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Sciences, along with the District Peace and Non-Violence Cell, are making commendable progress. Recently, the assembly passed the Gandhi Vatika Trust, Jaipur Bill-2023, reinforcing Gandhi’s principles.
