Brij Bhushan Singh Dismisses Sexual Harassment Allegations, Labels Them a Congress Conspiracy

Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has once again dismissed the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by six female wrestlers, calling it a “Congress conspiracy.” Speaking at a public event in Gonda, Singh reiterated his earlier claims, stating, “When the allegations were made against me, I said that this is a conspiracy of Congress, Deepender Hooda, and Bhupendra Hooda. I have said this earlier, and today the country is saying it. Now, I do not need to say anything about this.”

Singh, who has consistently denied the accusations, has previously alleged that Congress leaders were behind the charges. He also claimed to possess audio clips that could prove the conspiracy.

The sexual harassment allegations against Brij Bhushan Singh were made by six female wrestlers, prompting high-profile protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Among the protesters were Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, along with World Championship medallist Vinesh Phogat, who demanded Singh’s removal from his position as WFI president.

In response to the controversy, the BJP revoked Singh’s ticket for the Kaisarganj seat, which he had represented until 2024. The party has since nominated his son, Karan Singh, to contest the seat.

The case has sparked widespread attention, with many calling for thorough investigations and justice for the athletes involved.
