On Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda extended warm Christmas greetings to the nation and urged people to draw inspiration from the teachings of Jesus Christ. Nadda marked the occasion by offering prayers at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church in Delhi.

“I took blessings from Jesus Christ. We all know that God Jesus has been a source of inspiration to all of us. Today is the day to remember him and his teachings. We want to take inspiration from him and walk on his path to establish harmony, peace, and development of the people and society. I want to extend my best wishes on the occasion of Christmas,” said Nadda while speaking to reporters.

Similarly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared festive wishes on his official social media handle, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. PM Modi expressed his desire for the festive season to bring joy, peace, and prosperity to all, emphasizing the spirit of harmony and compassion that Christmas symbolizes. He also recalled the noble teachings of Lord Christ.

Across the country, people celebrated Christmas Eve with midnight masses held in various states. The festive atmosphere was vibrant, with churches illuminated, and revellers bursting firecrackers in Madhya Pradesh to mark the joyous occasion.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church in Delhi hosted a midnight mass, and prayers were offered at St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral in Bengaluru.

Christmas, celebrated annually on December 25, is a major religious and cultural event observed by billions worldwide. The day is marked by celebratory homecomings, warm family gatherings, and festive meals. Carol singing, dazzling Christmas lights, and elaborately decorated Christmas trees add to the joyous celebrations, inviting people to join in the spirit of the season.
