Bharatiya Janta Party stalwart and Ambala Mayor Shakti Rani Sharma, fielded from Kalka constituency in Haryana polls, looks set for victory if huge crowd in her public meetings during her election campaign is any indications. The political analysts opine that she is most likely to win the forthcoming assembly battle with a sizable chunk of votes.
By fielding her from Kalka, the BJP prospects look better not only in this assembly constituency but also in other adjoining constituencies of Ambala, Yamunanagar and Panchkula districts. Apart from being a female face, several other factors, especially the caste equations on Kalka assembly seat, are also clearly in favour of Shakti Rani Sharma.
Shakti Rani Sharma, who hails from the Brahmin community, is believed to have a stronghold among the voters from other communities with a rich political legacy. Apart from the Brahmin community, voters of other castes are also mobilising voters in her favour. It is noteworthy that being a major vote bank in the assembly, the Brahmin community emerges as a deciding factor in the constituency.
Shakti Rani Sharma is continuously showcasing her strength by gathering a huge crowd in meetings and programmes during the election campaign. In an event on Sunday, Union Minister of State for Industry and Commerce Jitin Prasad, District President Deepak Sharma, Sikandar Kumar and MP son Kartikeya Sharma participated in the “Booth Tridev Sammelan” organised at Pooja Palace Bitna, Pinjore in support of BJP candidate from Kalka assembly. On this occasion, the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections was discussed. Earlier, after being declared the candidate, Shakti Rani Sharma took out a road show from HMT Pinjore to Kalka Mata Mandir on Saturday. A large number of her supporters and party workers participated in the road show. Shakti Rani Sharma took blessings by bowing her head in the Mata Mandir in Kalka and performed Havan Yagya in the election office in Pinjore.
On this occasion, her husband and former Union Minister Vinod Sharma and Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma were also present. While responding to questions of journalists on this occasion, Shakti Rani Sharma said that she has a strong emotional bonding with the Kalka assembly constituency. On the other hand, son Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma said that our victory is crystal clear from the prevailing political scenario.
Shakti Rani Sharma’s family needs no introduction in Haryana as well as well in national politics. She is the wife of Haryana Jan Chetna Party chief Vinod Sharma, who has been a Union Minister and has been associated with people of every section at the grassroots level. He has constantly played a significant role in taking the community and other sections of the society forward.
Shakti Rani Sharma’s son Kartikeya Sharma was elected a member of the Rajya Sabha with the support of the BJP and is equally popular among people of every section. Currently, he is raising issues related to every section inside and outside the House, due to which he is getting a lot of attention in the state. By organising Brahmin Sammelan successfully, he has also shown his strength in the politics of the state.
