Bharat Tex 2024 Will Highlight Our Textile Heritage, says PM Modi

Before launching Bharat Tex 2024, an important global textile event, at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the event will highlight India’s vibrant textile heritage and innovation.

The event, which runs till Thursday, represents the Prime Minister’s 5F Vision by focusing on the full textile value chain from farm to overseas markets.

It is organized by a coalition of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils, with backing from the Centre, and focuses on trade, investment, and sustainability.

In a post on X ahead of the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi wrote, “Will be inaugurating Bharat Tex 2024 at 10:30 AM today. This forum will showcase India’s vibrant textile heritage and innovation. Together, let us weave a brighter future for trade, investment and exports in the important textiles sector. #BharatTex2024.”

Bharat Tex 2024 is one of the greatest worldwide textile events to be held in the country.

The event has a united farm-to-foreign focus on fibre, fabric, and fashion, spanning the full textile value chain. It would highlight India’s textile expertise and reinforce its position as a global textile powerhouse.

The event is based on the twin pillars of commerce and investment, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

The four-day event will include over 65 knowledge sessions with more than 100 global panelists discussing a variety of industry-related topics. It will also have pavilions dedicated to sustainability and circularity, a ‘Indi Haat’, fashion presentations on a variety of topics such as Indian textile heritage, sustainability, and worldwide designs, as well as interactive fabric testing zones and product demonstrations.

Bharat Tex 2024 is scheduled to attract policymakers and worldwide CEOs, over 3,500 exhibitors, over 3,000 buyers from over 100 countries, and over 40,000 business visitors, in addition to textile students, weavers, artisans, and workers.

More than 50 announcements and MoUs are anticipated to be signed during the event, providing additional impetus to investment and trade in the textile sector and helping to boost exports. It will be another significant step in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
