Jammu, 12 December: With the aim of making Mahakumbh 2025 a grand success, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has deputed two prominent ministers to Jammu & Kashmir to extend an invitation to the people of the region. Cabinet Minister for Science and Technology, Anil Kumar, and State Minister for Minority Welfare, Muslim Waqf, Haj Danish Azad Ansari led a grand roadshow in Jammu, inviting both the people and political leadership of Jammu & Kashmir to partake in the spiritual and cultural celebration at Prayagraj.

Speaking at the event, Anil Kumar highlighted that the Mahakumbh, which is expected to witness the participation of over 450 million pilgrims, saints, ascetics, and tourists, will showcase India’s cultural and spiritual consciousness on a global stage. “The Mahakumbh is not just a religious gathering; it is a unique celebration of India’s unity in diversity, and we invite the people of Jammu & Kashmir to join us in this historic event,” he said.

Scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, the Mahakumbh will be held at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj, after a gap of 12 years. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, this revered festival will bring together people from all walks of life to celebrate the spirit of unity and harmony that defines India.

Focus on Sustainability and Health

The Uttar Pradesh government has pledged to make the Mahakumbh 2025 a clean, green, and safe event. Anil Kumar emphasized that the government has undertaken numerous initiatives to make the festival plastic-free and environmentally friendly. Over 3 lakh plants have been cultivated across Prayagraj, and sustainability will remain a priority even after the event concludes.

In addition to its eco-friendly initiatives, the Mahakumbh will feature state-of-the-art healthcare arrangements. Multiple hospitals, including a 100-bed facility, have been set up to cater to the health needs of pilgrims, with a team of over 290 doctors, nurses, and specialists in place.

Technological Innovations to Enhance the Experience

To ensure smooth operations and safety, the Uttar Pradesh government is incorporating advanced technologies into the event. The Mahakumbh 2025 will be a digitally immersive experience, with the introduction of a dedicated website, multilingual mobile apps, RFID wristbands for pilgrims, and drone surveillance for crowd management and security.

A Grand Celebration of Unity in Diversity

Danish Azad Ansari, in his address, emphasized the Mahakumbh’s significance beyond religious rituals. He described it as an eternal proclamation of India’s unity in diversity, bringing people together regardless of their differences. “The Mahakumbh is not just a festival; it is a symbol of social harmony and India’s cultural pride,” he said.

The Uttar Pradesh government has called upon the people of Jammu & Kashmir, along with all citizens across India and the world, to join in this momentous event and experience the grandeur of Mahakumbh 2025.

The roadshow was attended by over 100 dignitaries, including senior journalists, travel influencers, and industry leaders, marking the beginning of what promises to be a historic event in India’s cultural calendar.
