TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, JD(S) MP-elect HD Kumaraswamy, and other NDA leaders supported the proposal to appoint Narendra Modi as the Leader of the alliance in Parliament at a crucial meeting of the bloc on Friday, following the Lok Sabha election results.

The meeting took place at the Samvidhan Sadan of the Parliament building, where Narendra Modi was later elected as the leader of Lok Sabha, leader of the BJP, and leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party. Narendra Modi himself attended the NDA meeting and was welcomed with chants of ‘Modi Modi’ as he arrived, also touching the Constitution of India with his forehead.

Chandrababu Naidu praised PM Modi’s tireless campaigning during the elections, stating, “For three months PM Modi never took any rest. Day and night he campaigned. He started and ended with the same spirit.”

After failing to secure a majority on its own, the BJP had to rely on allies TDP and JD(U) to form the government.

Addressing the gathering, BJP MP Rajnath Singh congratulated the newly elected MPs and expressed his belief that PM Narendra Modi’s name is the most suitable for the leadership posts.

BJP national president JP Nadda highlighted the NDA’s successes in the elections and credited PM Modi for transforming India from an indifferent to an aspiring and developing nation.

PM Modi was greeted by leaders like Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar at the meeting, where Ajit Pawar of NCP and Chirag Paswan of LJP were also present.

Former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy affirmed his party’s support to Modi and the NDA for a “stable government.”

Narendra Modi is set to take oath as Prime Minister for the third time on June 9, with the ceremony scheduled for 6 pm, as announced by senior BJP leader Pralhad Joshi during the NDA parliamentary party meeting.
