Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu speaks at 3rd edition of Republic Summit taking place at New Delhi on 25th April 2023 with the theme “Time of Transformation”.
This is the summit which aims to gather all the decision makers, thought-leaders and policymakers, it reins the conversations which nation waits for and ought to hear.
Speaking on the summit, N. Chandrababu Naidu said,
1. India has the advantage of demographic dividend until 2050. Currently 40% of the Indian population is below 25 years of age. This is the youngest India that we are seeing. We must capitalise on our young population by addressing their aspirations and creating appropriate ecosystem;
2. We are technologically matured. From the beginning, I thought technology will bring revolution. Today, information technology has become a backbone for the knowledge economy;
3. Telangana is getting the highest per capita income as Hyderabad is the proof of technological revolution. Talking over the Information Technology, CBN shared a memory of How Microsoft bought to Hyderabad in his words “When I went to get an appointment with the embassy, I wanted to meet Bill Gates. They objected. I had a 10-minute meeting with Bill Gates after so many trails. In a PowerPoint presentation I delivered, I claimed that Indians are skilled in mathematics and that the British left us with English. Both together are quite lethal. I asked the Centre for Hyderabad to be developed, and now Microsoft is in Hyderabad.
4. My vision is to make India the number one or number two economy by 2047, and I want to contribute to this vision and if the Prime Minister is thinking along the same lines, I agree with him. We had difference only over special status for Andhra Pradesh.
5. He also asserted, “Prime Minister has promoted India and gained recognition for the country on a global level through networking. I entirely agree with the Prime Minister’s vision and aim to associate Telugu people in achieving that vision”.
6. He stated, “People criticised me as 420. But my vision 2020 was realized in Hyderabad. Leaders who work with foresight for society always face criticism. In the past, the opposition used to criticise me.
7. Criticisms are still coming. Politics is one aspect, but development is another. The country and society are permanent, and everyone should dream and work towards making India number one.
8. Greed for money Vs. Need for money. Hence, I want to request the government to abolish the 500 denominations in our currency. Today we are ahead of other countries in using digital payments. Then in elections, we won’t be able to spend much money, or distribution of money wont be there. Transparency will come in politics… If you control political corruption or political donations, it will go a long way for the country.
9. Chandrababu Naidu comes up with his agenda that “India has 30% middle-class families, which is projected to increase to 60% by 2040. His solution to achieve his vision of making every Indian middle-class by 2047 is through PPPP (Public Private People Partnership) model, where mentoring and providing short-term, medium-term, and long-term visions to each family can help achieve this goal.
10. I believe that wealth creation is necessary to distribute wealth or provide welfare, and that poverty eradication should be a focus for a sustainable economy and a respectful standard of living.
11. My passion to develop the “Nutriful” app for promoting health, with 30-35k people already enrolled. I believe that food is medicine, and the kitchen is a pharmacy.
12. For this he should integrate agriculture with knowledge and technology by harnessing our water sources. Interlinking of rivers coupled with diversification of crops and zero based natural forming (ZBNF) is important to realize the aspirations of farmers;
13. Agriculture allied sectors like poultry, aquaculture, horticulture, etc., should be transformed based on our changing food habits.
14. This way by 2047 with right policies and execution India can be no. 1 in the world beating America and China.
15. Finally, he stated that “My vision is to bring to India above the poverty line by 2047. Indians’ community to be richer than the Jews, as they are currently considered to have more wealth compared to Indians.
