Nana Patekar is gearing up for the release of his next film, «The Vaccine War.» The veteran actor discussed the rise of OTT platforms in an interview. He talked about how the recent surge in OTT has provided more opportunities for actors who may not have conventional looks to showcase their talent. Nana stated, «At that time, we didn›t get a chance. People like us who don›t have conventional looks Om Puri didn›t have a conventional face; Irrfan didn›t have any particular look; I didn›t have a specific appearance; Manoj Bajpayee didn›t have a recognized face; and Raghubir Yadav didn›t have a distinctive look. Now, we all have a stage to display our talent. People have recognized them and started appreciating their work. Following the rise of OTT platforms, artists now have another medium, in addition to theater and cinema, to showcase their talents,» Nana Patekar stated in the same interview. He also discussed the decline of superstardom in the film industry and how today›s stars can change in a matter of weeks based on box office results. Nana cited examples like Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, and Dev Anand, emphasizing how audiences still remember their films.
Nana Patekar has been a part of the Indian film industry for more than three decades. Some of his most notable works include «Parinda» (1989), «Krantiveer» (1994), «Khamoshi: The Musical» (1996), and «Welcome» (2007). Nana is making his return to the big screen after a considerable break with Vivek Agnihotri›s «The Vaccine War.
