Sanatan Dharma considers the snake to be a god on the day of Nag Panchami. On the banks of the Ganges in Prayagraj is the temple dedicated to Nagavasuki, the king of serpents. The priest continued, “A large number of people come here on this day to offer prayers and pray for good fortune for their families.” The snake is seen as being connected to the environment in Sanatan Dharma.
