Following the demise of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari due to cardiac arrest, his son Umar Ansari asserted that his father was allegedly poisoned and vowed to pursue legal recourse, stating, “We have full faith in it.”
Umar Ansari expressed his lack of prior knowledge regarding the situation from the administration, saying, “I was not told anything from the administration side, I came to know about it through the media… But now the whole nation knows everything.” He reiterated their allegations of poisoning, specifying, “On March 19, he was poisoned in the dinner. We will move to the judiciary, we have full faith in it.”
Regarding the post-mortem process, Umar Ansari mentioned, “Post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow, after that, they will give us the body. We will then follow with the further process (cremation).” He highlighted the formation of a panel of five doctors for the post-mortem examination.
Mukhtar Ansari’s body was sent for post-mortem at Banda Medical College Hospital.
In response to Ansari’s passing, various political figures offered condolences. AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi conveyed his sympathies, emphasizing the allegations of poisoning and criticizing the lack of attention to Ansari’s medical treatment. Samajwadi Party leader Ameeque Jamei called for a thorough investigation into Ansari’s death, while Congress leader Surendra Rajput questioned the circumstances surrounding it.
Mukhtar Ansari, a five-time MLA, held significant political influence in Ghazipur. He had faced legal issues, including convictions related to criminal activities and corruption.
Expressing condolences, the Samajwadi Party shared a tribute to Mukhtar Ansari on Twitter.
In his recent health issues, Ansari was admitted to hospitals in Uttar Pradesh before his demise. He had been involved in legal battles and faced convictions in various cases, including murder and corruption.
