The clip, shared by several users, includes a post on X (formerly Twitter) by user @venom1s, showing a female student performing with others in the background. Reactions have been mixed, with some criticizing the performance as inappropriate, while others see no issue with it.

The clip has not been shared on the official social media handles of IIT Bombay, and the institute has yet to issue any statement regarding the incident. The controversy arises from differing opinions, with some netizens criticizing the performance and questioning whether it reflects the image of one of India’s top engineering institutions. One user commented, “People go to IIT to study, then what is happening?” while another simply labeled the performance as “inappropriate.” These critics argue that such displays do not align with the values expected from an academic institution like IIT Bombay.

However, the response wasn’t entirely negative. Many users defended the students, pushing back against the moral policing and asserting that there was nothing wrong with the performance. One user commented, “What is the issue, actually?” Another remarked, “This just proves that IITians are good at everything,” while others echoed the sentiment, stating, “Nothing wrong in it.”
Recently, IIT Bombay also made headlines for its 2023-24 placement report, revealing that 25% of students did not secure jobs through campus placements. Despite the tough academics and competition, some students received job offers with annual salaries as low as 4 lakh rupees.
