Preceding the designation of Commercial Road in Sarabha Nagar, the Municipal Corporation has sealed under-construction showrooms. This measure was implemented on the road leading to Guru Nanak Public School, connecting Malhar Road to the Main Market in Sarabha Nagar. The proposal to declare this road as a commercial zone has been approved, and the Municipal Corporation has informed the government. Local residents are expressing opposition before a decision is finalized.
Residents in the area argue that commercial activities will worsen issues related to parking and traffic jams in residential areas. Complaints have been forwarded to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, addressing concerns about illegally constructed commercial buildings on this road. In response to this, officials from the Building Branch of Zone B of the Municipal Corporation have sealed two showrooms in Sarabha Nagar Block I.
