In a comprehensive meeting at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Municipal Corporation Greater Commissioner Rukmani Riad addressed key issues related to the city’s cleanliness, infrastructure development, and civic services. The meeting covered topics such as temporary encroachments, door-to-door garbage collection, city tax recovery, drain cleaning, night cleaning, and park maintenance.
Commissioner Rukmani Riad, known for her hands-on approach, has been actively overseeing the cleanliness systems across various zones. During a recent inspection of the Vidyadhar Nagar zone, she expressed concern about the presence of stray animals on the roads and promptly directed officials to address the issue.
The meeting, which lasted over three hours, addressed a range of agenda items. The Commissioner emphasized the need to resolve cleanliness-related complaints daily and dispose of pending cases on the Sampark Portal promptly. Additionally, she directed all officers to transition to the e-filing system by February 15, streamlining administrative processes.
Chief Engineer Anil Singhal received instructions to prioritize drain cleaning and complete the task before the monsoon. An action plan was to be formulated and implemented promptly, with a focus on proper monitoring of drain cleaning activities.
Out of 648 identified open garbage depots, 259 have been permanently dismantled, and the remaining depots were set for removal in the next seven days. Commissioner Rukmani Riyad commended the Swachhta Prahari team for recovering Rs 10 lakh in fines.
Emphasis was placed on ensuring 100% garbage collection through hoppers in door-to-door garbage collection. Zone Deputy Commissioners were directed to review and increase garbage collection percentages, eliminate open depots, and monitor daily zone cleaning activities.
The Deputy Commissioner of Parks received instructions to maintain cleanliness, conduct regular maintenance of parks, repair sports equipment, address civil repairs, and ensure proper lighting for enhanced safety.
