The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved the extension of the Mumbai Metro 2B line to Cheetah Camp, a transit camp in Trombay. The extension will add 1.02 kilometers to the existing line, at a cost of Rs 205 crore.
The extension is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters in the area, and will provide convenient rail access to several key landmarks, including the Eastern Express Highway, the Western Railway, and the Mono Rail. The station at Cheetah Camp will also be integrated with the proposed Metro Line 3, which is currently under construction.
The extension of the Mumbai Metro 2B line is part of a larger plan to improve public transportation in Mumbai. The MMRDA is also working on extending other metro lines, such as the Metro Line 2A and the Metro Line 7. These extensions are expected to further improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the city.
In a statement, the MMRDA said that the extension of the Mumbai Metro 2B line is “a major step towards providing seamless connectivity to the citizens of Mumbai.” The authority also said that the extension is expected to “boost economic activity and social development in the region.”
The extension of the Mumbai Metro 2B line is a welcome development for commuters in the area. The new line will provide much-needed connectivity to several key landmarks, and is expected to significantly reduce travel time. The extension is also part of a larger plan to improve public transportation in Mumbai, which is a city that is in desperate need of better transportation options.
The Mumbai Metro 2B line is a 23.5-kilometer line that connects Dahisar and Mandale. The extension to Cheetah Camp will make the line 24.52 kilometers long. The construction of the extension is expected to be completed in 2024.  The extension will create 1,000 jobs during construction. The extension is expected to benefit over 1 million people.
