In a tragic incident in Mumbai’s Goregaon area, the body of a man was discovered on the street in front of his apartment, revealing a grim sequence of events that followed. The victim, identified as 58-year-old Kishore Pednekar, was found early Friday morning near Topiwala Mansion in Jawahar Nagar. Kishore, a gym equipment salesman, appeared to have jumped to his death.
Local residents who stumbled upon Kishore’s body alerted the authorities, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. When attempts were made to reach Kishore’s wife, Rajshree Pednekar, to inform her of his death, calls went unanswered. Upon arriving at the couple’s flat, police discovered the door locked from the inside.
Upon investigation, police found two keys around Kishore’s neck, which they used to unlock the apartment. Inside, they found a more disturbing scene: Rajshree, a 57-year-old therapist, was discovered dead in the hallway. She had been strangled and was also declared dead at the hospital.
Initial police assessments suggest that Kishore might have killed his wife before taking his own life. Authorities found evidence of Kishore’s struggle with severe depression, including numerous medications for depression and diabetes. It appears that he had meticulously planned the deaths, having arranged a flight ticket for their son from Delhi to Mumbai and sent detailed financial information to a relative via WhatsApp.
The couple’s son, who lives and works in Delhi, was reportedly informed of the tragedy. The police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
