The heavy rainfall caused severe waterlogging on roads in the financial hub, resulting in significant traffic congestion on the Western Express Highway and other routes. Flight operations have also been impacted, and local trains—the city’s lifeline—are operating at reduced speeds.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted “extremely heavy rainfall,” with the red alert in effect until 8:30 AM on Thursday.
